حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Ḥasbunā llāhu wa niʿma l-wakīl.
Allah is sufficient for us. How excellent a guardian He is.
Dua recited 7 times on Ashura:
"In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. I glorify Allah as fully as His scale can hold, to the utmost degree of His knowledge, in the manner that pleases Him, and to the weight of the Throne. There is no shelter from Allah and no way of escape from Him; I take refuge in Him from Him. I glorify Him by the number of all things even and odd, and by the number of all Allah's perfect words. O Most Merciful of the merciful, I ask You to grant me safety through Your mercy. The strength to keep away from sins and the power to perform acts of obedience come only through the enabling grace and help of Allah, the Exalted, the Immense. He is sufficient for me; how excellent a guardian He is."

The 10th of Muharram (the Day of Ashura) is a blessed day on which many important events in Islamic history took place. The grounding of the ark of Nuh, the deliverance of Musa from Pharaoh and the emergence of Yunus from the belly of the fish (peace be upon them all), as well as our Prophet's migration to Madinah, fall on this day.
It is sunnah to fast on this day. Our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I hope from Allah that the fast of the Day of Ashura will be an expiation for the sins of the preceding year" (Sahih Muslim, Siyam 196). The 10th of Muharram is also the day on which Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred at Karbala; for this reason the day is at the same time a day of grief and mourning.
Allah is sufficient for us; how excellent a guardian He is. How excellent a Protector and how excellent a Helper. O Allah, Most Merciful of the merciful, grant me safety through Your mercy. Protect me from sins and give me strength for acts of obedience. I take refuge in You, O Lord. Amin.
