Qunut 1:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْتَعِينُكَ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَنَسْتَهْدِيكَ ﴿﴾ وَنُؤْمِنُ بِكَ وَنَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ ﴿﴾ وَنَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ وَنُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ الْخَيْرَ كُلَّهُ ﴿﴾ نَشْكُرُكَ وَلَا نَكْفُرُكَ ﴿﴾ وَنَخْلَعُ وَنَتْرُكُ مَنْ يَفْجُرُكَ
Qunut 2:
اللَّهُمَّ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَلَكَ نُصَلِّي وَنَسْجُدُ ﴿﴾ وَإِلَيْكَ نَسْعَى وَنَحْفِدُ ﴿﴾ نَرْجُو رَحْمَتَكَ وَنَخْشَى عَذَابَكَ ﴿﴾ إِنَّ عَذَابَكَ بِالْكُفَّارِ مُلْحِقٌ
Qunut 1: Allāhumma innā nastaʿīnuka wa-nastaghfiruka wa-nastahdīk. Wa-nuʾminu bika wa-natūbu ilayk. Wa-natawakkalu ʿalayka wa-nuthnī ʿalayka al-khayra kullahu nashkuruka wa-lā nakfuruka wa-nakhlaʿu wa-natruku man yafjuruk.
Qunut 2: Allāhumma iyyāka naʿbudu wa-laka nuṣallī wa-nasjudu wa-ilayka nasʿā wa-naḥfidu. Narjū raḥmataka wa-nakhshā ʿadhābak. Inna ʿadhābaka bi-l-kuffāri mulḥiq.
Qunut 1: O Allah! We ask You for help, we ask You to forgive our sins, we ask You to guide us to what pleases You. We believe in You and we repent to You. We put our trust in You. Acknowledging all the blessings You have given us, we praise You with good. We are grateful to You; we deny none of Your blessings and do not attribute them to anyone else. We forsake whoever denies Your blessings and opposes You.
Qunut 2: O Allah! We worship You alone. We perform the salah for You alone, and we prostrate only to You. We hasten to You alone and strive to gain what will bring us near to You. We ask that Your mercy continue and increase. We fear Your punishment. Truly Your punishment reaches the disbelievers and those without faith.

Narrated by Umar and his son Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them). The Hanafis and the Malikis preferred this narration. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this dua in the last rak'ah of the witr salah, before the bowing. (Sunan Abi Dawud, Salat; Sunan Ibn Majah, Iqamat as-Salat)
Our mother A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray witr with three rak'ahs and give the salam at the end of the three rak'ahs." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sunan an-Nasa'i) Reciting the Qunut dua in the last rak'ah of the witr salah, with a takbir before the bowing, is a sunnah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) practised constantly. This practice is so well known that, according to Imam Abu Hanifah, reciting the Qunut in witr is obligatory (wajib), while according to Abu Yusuf and Imam Muhammad it is a sunnah.
In the dictionary the word qunut means silence, obedience, humility, standing and worship. As a technical term it refers to the dua recited in the last rak'ah of the witr salah before going into the bowing. A person who does not know the Qunut dua may recite the "Rabbana atina" dua, or say "Allahumma ighfir li" three times, or "Ya Rabbi" three times. This allowance shows that Islam takes ease and sincerity as its basis in the servant's communication with his Lord.
The noble Companions attached great importance to this dua. The Qunut dua is a plea that expresses in the finest way the believer's consciousness of servanthood before Allah, his need of Him, that he worships Him alone and asks help from Him alone. Reciting this dua every night in the witr salah keeps the servant's connection with his Lord alive through the nights as well.
O Allah, I am in need of You and I ask You for help. I ask for the forgiveness of my sins and to be kept firm on the path of guidance. I believe in You and I put my trust in You. I thank You for every blessing You have bestowed upon me; I do not deny Your blessings. I forsake those who oppose me and those who rebel against You. I worship You alone and prostrate to You alone. I hope for Your mercy and fear Your punishment. Forgive me, O my Lord. Amin.
