رَبِّ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
The dua of Yusuf (peace be upon him):
فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَنْتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
Rabbi tawaffanī musliman wa alḥiqnī bi'ṣ-ṣāliḥīn.
Fāṭira's-samāwāti wa'l-arḍi anta waliyyī fi'd-dunyā wa'l-ākhirati tawaffanī musliman wa alḥiqnī bi'ṣ-ṣāliḥīn.
My Lord! Take my soul as a Muslim and join me with the righteous. (Yusuf 101)
O Creator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Take my soul as a Muslim and join me with the righteous. (Yusuf 101)

This is the dua of Yusuf (peace be upon him) recorded in the Qur'an. (Yusuf 101)
Even after Yusuf (peace be upon him) was reunited with his brothers and had come to possess dominion and power, he asked Allah "to die as a Muslim." This shows that the blessings of this world are temporary and that the true goal is to die upon faith.
Husn al-khatimah (a good end) is the believer's greatest request. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Deeds are judged by their endings" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Riqaq 33). "Whoever dies pronouncing the kalimah of shahadah enters Paradise" (Sahih Muslim, Iman 39).
For a good death: it is recommended to live uprightly, to keep away from sins, to remain in a state of repentance at every moment, to perform righteous deeds and to recite this dua frequently.
My Lord! Take my soul as a Muslim and join me with Your righteous servants. O Creator of the heavens and the earth, You are my Protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Grant me a last breath upon faith, O Lord. Amin.
