Surah al-Mu'minun, ayat 97-98.

Virtue
Virtue

This dua occurs in the Noble Qur'an and was revealed to our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah the Exalted taught His Messenger how to be protected from the promptings of the devils and from their drawing near to him: "My Lord! I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils. And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me" (al-Mu'minun 97-98).

Satan is the greatest enemy of the human being. He whispers, he makes evil appear attractive, and he tries to lead people away from the straight path. This dua is the most direct dua of protection that the Qur'an teaches against Satan's tricks.

It is very beneficial to read this dua morning and evening, to read it after the salah (prayer), and especially to repeat it at the moment when whisperings come. To be protected from Satan's influence, reading Surah an-Nas and Surah al-Falaq was also recommended.

Dua in English

My Lord! I seek refuge in You from the promptings of the devils and from their being present with me. Drive away the dark thoughts that come to my heart; keep our minds clean and pure. Grant us that we perform our deeds solely for Your good pleasure, and uproot the evil intentions within us. Do not let us stray from the right path, and preserve us from the evil of Satan, O Lord. Amin.
