Bu duayı Türkçe oku

Meaning

My Lord! Inspire me to be grateful for the blessings You have granted me and my parents. Grant me to do righteous deeds that please You. Admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants.

Kaynak

Source: An-Naml 19 (a verse of the Noble Qur'an).

This is the dua of gratitude and praise that Sulayman (peace be upon him) made the moment he heard what the ant said.

Virtue
Virtue

As Sulayman (peace be upon him) was marching with his army, he heard an ant say, "O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Sulayman and his soldiers crush you without realizing it" (An-Naml 18). When Sulayman heard these words he smiled and immediately made this dua (An-Naml 19).

There are great lessons in this brief incident: a prophet is able to hear and understand the words of an ant, and in the face of this blessing he immediately gives thanks to Allah. It shows that as a blessing grows, gratitude must grow with it.

This dua contains four requests: to give thanks for a blessing (for the blessings granted to me and to my parents), to do righteous deeds (deeds that please You), to be with the righteous (to be admitted by Your mercy among Your righteous servants), and to be enabled to fulfil the gratitude a blessing requires (awziʿnī — inspire me, give me strength).

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said about this dua: "Sulayman was the son of Dawud. He said, 'Rabbi awziʿnī...' Whoever recites this dua in the morning has fulfilled the gratitude due for that day." For this reason it is a dua of great virtue, recommended to be recited especially in the morning, at the start of the day.

Dua in English

My Lord! Grant me to be grateful for the blessings You have granted me and my parents. Accept my gratitude. Enable me to do the good deeds that please You. Admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants. It is You who reminds me of these blessings every morning, and it is You alone who bestows the ability to give thanks for them, O Lord. Amin.
