لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ
Lā ilāha illā llāhu l-ʿAẓīmu l-Ḥalīm. Lā ilāha illā llāhu rabbu l-ʿarshi l-ʿaẓīm. Lā ilāha illā llāhu rabbu s-samāwāti wa-rabbu l-arḍi rabbu l-ʿarshi l-karīm.
There is no god but Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth, the Lord of the Noble Throne.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite this dua at times of distress. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Da'awat 27/6346; Sahih Muslim, Dhikr 83/2730; Jami' at-Tirmidhi, Da'awat 38/3435)
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: "At times of distress the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would say: 'La ilaha illallahu'l-Azimu'l-Halim...'" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Da'awat 27/6346; Sahih Muslim, Dhikr 83/2730).
This dua is known as the "dua of karb" (the dua of distress). It is recited at moments of distress and anguish. The declaration of tawhid is repeated three times, and in each one different attributes of Allah are mentioned:
Azim and Halim: Allah is great (Azim), and at the same time gentle and forbearing (Halim). He is not hasty in punishing. Rabbu'l-Arshi'l-Azim: the Lord of the Mighty Throne. The Throne is the greatest of created things, and Allah is its Lord as well. Rabbu's-samawati wa'l-ard: the Lord of the heavens and the earth. The whole universe is His dominion.
With this dua the believer, feeling utterly small at a moment of distress, takes refuge in the great Allah who is the Lord of the universe. Beside the greatness of Allah, no distress is great. That the Prophet recited this dua particularly at times of distress shows the distress-relieving power of tawhid.
There is no god but Allah. He is Azim (the Magnificent), He is Halim (the Forbearing). He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne. He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. He is the Lord of the Noble Throne. Remove my distress, deliver me from my anguish. Beside Your greatness no distress is great, O my Lord. Amin.
