اَللّٰهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ
أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Allāhumma bika aṣbaḥnā wa-bika amsaynā wa-bika naḥyā wa-bika namūtu wa-ilayka n-nushūr.
Aṣbaḥnā wa-aṣbaḥa l-mulku li-llāhi wa-l-ḥamdu li-llāh. Lā ilāha illā llāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu l-mulku wa-lahu l-ḥamdu wa-huwa ʿalā kulli shayʾin qadīr.
O Allah! By Your grace we have reached the morning, and by Your grace we have reached the evening. By Your will we live and by Your will we die. And it is You who will raise us again and gather us before You.
We have entered the morning. All dominion belongs to Allah. All praise belongs to Allah. There is no god but Allah alone; He has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.

Narrated by Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite these duas in the morning. (Jami' at-Tirmidhi, Da'awat 13; Sunan Abi Dawud, Adab 101; Sunan Ibn Majah, Du'a 14; Sahih Muslim, Dhikr 74-76)
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: "In the morning the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would say, 'Allahumma bika asbahna...'" (Jami' at-Tirmidhi, Da'awat 13; Sunan Abi Dawud, Adab 101). The morning hour represents the creation of the world, the coming of the human being into the world, and the beginning of life afresh for everything.
In the narration of Ibn Mas'ud, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would also declare, saying "Asbahna wa asbaha'l-mulku lillah...", that he had entered the morning, that the dominion belongs to Allah, and that He is One and without partner (Sahih Muslim, Dhikr 74-76). Then he would say, "Rabbi as'aluka khayra ma fi hadhihi'l-yawmi wa khayra ma ba'daha" (My Lord! I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what comes after it), and would seek refuge with Allah from their evils.
When Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the Prophet, "Teach me words to recite morning and evening," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught him the dua "Allahumma fatira's-samawati wa'l-ardi alima'l-ghaybi wa'sh-shahadati..." and said, "Say this in the morning, in the evening, and when you lie down in your bed!" (Sunan Abi Dawud, Adab 101; Jami' at-Tirmidhi, Da'awat 14).
O Allah! By Your grace I have reached the morning. The dominion is Yours and the praise is Yours. I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what comes after it. I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and of what comes after it. Protect me from laziness, from the old age that wears a person down, and from the punishment of Hell and of the grave, O my Lord. Amin.
