اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا وَفِي بَصَرِي نُورًا وَفِي سَمْعِي نُورًا وَعَنْ يَمِينِي نُورًا وَعَنْ شِمَالِي نُورًا وَفَوْقِي نُورًا وَتَحْتِي نُورًا وَأَمَامِي نُورًا وَخَلْفِي نُورًا وَاجْعَلْ لِي نُورًا
Addition in another narration:
وَفِي عَصَبِي نُورًا وَفِي لَحْمِي نُورًا وَفِي دَمِي نُورًا وَفِي شَعْرِي نُورًا وَفِي بَشَرِي نُورًا
Allāhumma jʿal fī qalbī nūran wa-fī baṣarī nūran wa-fī samʿī nūran wa-ʿan yamīnī nūran wa-ʿan shimālī nūran wa-fawqī nūran wa-taḥtī nūran wa-amāmī nūran wa-khalfī nūran wa-jʿal lī nūrā.
Addition: wa-fī ʿaṣabī nūran wa-fī laḥmī nūran wa-fī damī nūran wa-fī shaʿrī nūran wa-fī basharī nūrā.
O Allah! Place light in my heart, place light in my sight, place light in my hearing. Place light on my right, light on my left, light above me, light below me, light before me, light behind me. Grant me a great light.
Addition: Place light in my nerves, light in my flesh, light in my blood, light in my hair, light in my skin.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite this dua. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Da'awat 9/6316; Sahih Muslim, Salat al-Musafirin 181/763)
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: "One of the duas of our beloved Prophet was this Dua of Light" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Da'awat 9; Sahih Muslim, Musafirin 181). This dua is one of the well-known duas the Prophet recited in the night prayer.
Nur (light) is one of the names of Allah: "an-Nur". Allah is "the Light of the heavens and the earth" (an-Nur 35). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is light as well. With this dua the believer asks Allah to fill every side of his life with light. The light of the heart is faith, the light of the eye is insight, and the light of the ear is receiving wisdom.
In the dua, light is asked for in fourteen places: the heart, the eye, the ear, the right, the left, above, below, in front, behind, the nerves, the flesh, the blood, the hair and the skin. This is a request that the whole of a person's being be covered with light. Then, finally, by saying "waj'al li nura" (grant me a great light), an all-encompassing light above all these lights is asked for.
This is a dua of great merit, recommended especially for the night prayer, while praying tahajjud, and after the prayers. Everyone who seeks light, who seeks guidance, who seeks insight should recite this dua.
O Allah! Place light in my heart, the light of faith. Place light in my eye, the light of insight. Place light in my ear, the light of wisdom. Place light on every side of me, fill every part of me with light. Grant me a great light. Illuminate me with Your light and deliver me from the darkness, O my Lord. Amin.
