بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ ﴿﴾ اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ
When the spouses come together:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ اَللّٰهُمَّ جَنِّبْنَا الشَّيْطَانَ وَجَنِّبِ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا
Bi-smi llāh. Allāhumma innī asʾaluka khayrahā wa-khayra mā jabaltahā ʿalayh, wa-aʿūdhu bika min sharrihā wa-sharri mā jabaltahā ʿalayh.
When the spouses come together: Bi-smi llāh. Allāhumma jannibnā sh-shayṭāna wa-jannibi sh-shayṭāna mā razaqtanā.
In the name of Allah. O Allah, I ask You for the good in her and for the good of the nature You have created her with. And I seek refuge with You from the evil in her and from the evil of the nature You have created her with.
When the spouses come together: In the name of Allah. O Allah, keep Satan away from us and from the child You will grant us.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him). A person should recite this dua when approaching his wife, in order to drive Satan away. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Nikah 66, Da'awat 54; Sahih Muslim, Nikah 116; Sunan Abi Dawud, Nikah 45)
The wedding night is the first night of a newly established home in Islam. On this night the spouses, brought together by the marriage bond that Allah has made lawful, should begin this blessed union under Allah's protection. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) advised beginning with Bismillah when approaching one's wife, and reciting the dua that drives Satan away.
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'When one of you is about to be intimate with his wife and says, Bi-smi llāh, Allāhumma jannibnā sh-shayṭāna..., and a child is granted to them from that union, Satan cannot harm it'" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Da'awat 54; Sahih Muslim, Nikah 116). This dua is not particular to the wedding night; it is recommended before every union.
In Islam, intimacy between spouses is a chaste and lawful blessing. To begin this blessing with the Basmalah and to ask Allah for the protection of the child to be born is to lay the spiritual foundation of the institution of the family. On the wedding night it was also recommended that two rak'ahs of voluntary salah be performed and that the spouses make dua for one another.
O Allah, I begin this lawful union in Your name. From You I ask the good in my spouse and the goodness of the nature she was created with. I seek refuge with You from her evil and from her faults. Keep Satan away from us and, if You grant us a child, from our child. Make our home blessed and our union good. Grant us righteous children, O Lord. Amin.
