اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ ﴿﴾ اَللّٰهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ فَضْلِكَ
Allāhumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad. Allāhumma ftaḥ lī abwāba faḍlik.
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad. O Allah, open to me the gates of Your bounty and favour.

Narrated by Fatimah az-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her): "When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) left the mosque he would again send blessings and peace upon the Prophet and say, 'My Lord, forgive my sins and open to me the gates of Your bounty and favour.'" (Jami' at-Tirmidhi, Salah 117/314; Musnad Ahmad VI, 282; Sunan Ibn Majah, Masajid 13)
Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) relates: "When entering the mosque the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would ask that the gates of mercy be opened, and when leaving the mosque that the gates of bounty and favour be opened" (Jami' at-Tirmidhi, Salah 117). This subtle distinction is striking: inside the mosque mercy is asked for, because worship is being performed there. On leaving, bounty and favour are asked for, because outside one will seek provision and attend to the necessities of life.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) advised leaving the mosque with the left foot. It is also sunnah to send blessings upon the Prophet when leaving. The teaching of different duas for entering and for leaving the mosque shows that Islam offers an order of dua suited to every situation, and that every moment of a believer's life should be adorned with dhikr.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: "When one of you enters the mosque, let him send blessings upon the Prophet and say, 'O Allah, open to me the gates of Your mercy.' And when he leaves, let him send blessings upon the Prophet and say, 'O Allah, protect me from the evil of Satan'" (Sunan Ibn Majah, Masajid 13).
O Allah, I leave Your house sending blessings upon our Prophet. Open to me the gates of Your bounty and favour. Grant me lawful provision and enable me to succeed in good works. When I leave the mosque, grant that I do not forget You and that I carry the manners of worship out with me. Protect me from the evil of Satan, O Lord. Amin.
